12 mile bike - Longleaf Trace
1 mile run - Treadmill Had a great bike this morning! Went to a work meeting until about 3:00pm and got home early to do my run. Heard the news that one of my idols growing up as a baseball fanatic passed away. About 23ish years ago my dad (a major Yankees fan) took me to a Yogi Berra signing. That baseball became one of my prized possessions and always will be hanging on a wall in my house. RIP Yogi, I'm honored to have crossed your path in my lifetime. "When you come to a fork in the road, TAKE IT!" - Yogi Berra
On a side note, my parents never had a lot of money. They worked their asses off to provide for me and my brothers. My dad always went out of his way to make sure that I got to meet people like Yogi Berra, Pete Rose, Don Larson, Harmon Killebrew and many more professional baseball players from the "old" days. Those guys were idols to me when I was growing up. The one thing that I may have never told my dad was thank you, I know that he say it in my eyes every time that I got to meet one of those so called "idols" but I don't know if I actually ever really said it to him. So thank you dad. You know what you mean to me, you are the one that taught me the most important thing that I have ever learned in my life time....How to be an amazing father. Those guys that I met and idolized were not who I really looked up to, that was always you. I want you to know this before it's too late for me to say it to you. You are and always have been who I looked up to and wanted to be like. You are my best friend, you know pretty much everything about me and honest to god you are the only person that I have truly idolized all of my life. I love you.
