1 mile - Treadmill
Here we are, back at it. The rat race begins again. Ruby will be turning 3 in October (insert clichè line here - growing up way too fast) Jenny is still at Columbia Primary School for her 9th year. 3rd year as a guidance counselor. And I am leaving my 4th year as a Columbia High School Wildcat to start a new career as Lead Math Instructor for Adult Education at Pearl River Community College. Wow, life kicked you in the face with change when you least expect it. I seriously couldn't be any more happy with my life than I am now. I had some hard times this summer that turned into a blessing in disguise. I will say this, it changed my outlook on life, and I'm a better person for it. I love my wife and my child more than I ever thought imaginable. Besides that, I have had the best summer that I've had on record.
Here is my list of summer fun:
- Saw Elton John at Jazz Fest in New Orleans
- Got to take pictures at Matt Kearney at the House of Blues in New Orleans.
- Spent my 1st week of summer vacation in Orange Beach, AL. at Mimike's house.
- Saw Dave Matthews Band at the Warf in Orange Beach, AL. And after 90+ shows, I finally got to meet him!
- Had a life changing event that I'll never forget.
- Spent 2 weeks in Florida at my brothers house, but mostly at Walt Disney World. Ruby LOVED it this year! We did 10 days at Ft. Wilderness Campgrounds.
- Was hired on as the Lead Math Instructor for the Adult Education Program at PRCC.
- Saw The Avett Brothers in New Orleans, LA.
- Most importantly, bought my dream car! A 1970 VW Transporter Bus! I can't wait to restore Virginia Whiskey! AKA Ruby's "Mystery Machine"
I know this post has nothing to do with running, but it really does in the grand scheme of things. But only I understand that. One last pic today to sum up my summer.....
